Welcome!

Thank you for visiting the Comstock Park Rotary.  We are a group knit together in bonds of personal friendship and service.  We represent many segments of the community as to be inclusive.  Our Rotary is part of District 6290 which is made up of 62 Rotaries and 3,350 Rotarians covering the Michigan area  west of I-75 and parts of Indiana and Ontario.  Together with other Districts, we are Rotary International.

The Comstock Park Rotary  was chartered in 1952.  Since then, our completed projects have enhanced the community in many ways.   Our most notable recent project is the restoration of Grotto Park adjacent to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.  Members of this small rural Rotary raised nearly a half a million dollars in supplies and labor thanks to the generosity of the entire West Michigan community.

Another recent community project was teaming up with KaBOOM!, Amway, and York Creek to bring a playground to the nearly 600 children who live in or near York Creek Apartments.   Our main role in this project was providing  leadership and coordination of  the activities planned for the installation day.  

Two international objectives focused on by the Comstock Park Rotary are the eradication of Polio and providing clean water to those in the world who barely have anything else. We and Rotary International are so close to achieving the first objective and so fortunate that we can contribute towards the second.  In February 2013, a group of Comstock Park Rotarians will team up with Rotarians from Sparta and Cedar Springs to drill a well near  Acajutla, El Salvador.  "No single factor affects a community more than clean water.  Every $1 invested in clean water and sanitation returns $8 in saved time, productivity and decreased health costs."
